FAQs about The Dinner Party’s Closure
On March 27th, 2026 we announced the official intent to sunset The Dinner Party (read the letter from the Executive Director here). We know this impacts different members of the community in different ways. Here, we’ll update with more information as we move toward closure and honor our legacy.
Why did this happen?
In short: the continued race against recurring funding gaps has led us to make the tough decision to end well rather than compromise the quality of our connections and programming.

Is there anything we can do to help?
First, we’re immensely grateful that you’re asking this question. One way you can help out is by sharing stories of connections you’ve made and ways The Dinner Party has had an impact on your life here.

I’m still waiting to get connected. Is there any way that can still happen?
At this moment unfortunately not. But, you can check out our recommended resources here.
There may be opportunities in the future for connecting and gathering though so be sure you’re subscribed.
What does this mean for my Table or Buddy?
If you’re already connected, you get to stay connected! That’s the magic of this organization, where the relationships are held amongst each of you as peers. While the availability of staff support will be going away, our conversation prompts, guides, and other tools are available to you all. You can find program specific support here:
Can I still start a Table?
We have no more Host Trainings scheduled at this time.
What happens to my membership?
Your recurring membership has now been cancelled.
Paying Members still have access to the Members-Only page (you can find the password in any membership emails we’ve sent to you in the past from memberships@thedinnerparty.org). If you need a receipt or history of your payment, you can go to the membership portal.
What happens to my recurring donation?
All recurring donations have now been cancelled.

Our staff is ready to help answer any other questions you’re holding that weren’t addressed above. But, please know our capacity is limited as we navigate all the practical and emotional elements of closing this organization that has meant so much to so many, ourselves very much included.
